There are actually two Earth Days celebrated.
The International Earth Day, sponsored by the United Nations and introduced in 1971, is typically celebrated on the first day of spring. California businessman John McConnell first came up with this idea in 1969.
The U.S. EarthDay celebration, the one begun by Senator Nelson, is held every yearon April 22. Senator Nelson died in 2005.

This is not about the article, sorry. However, I would like to know if Child Life is still published. Sometime in 1960 I had my letter published in the magazine. And I received so many letters from children around the world ( I am from India). I thought I would check whether the magazine was still around. Any website or mail id of the editor. Thnk you.
